The Breath of Life
As an artist I am intrigued by the enlivening act recorded in sacred writ: 'Lord formed man...and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being...'. Here I depicted, symbolically, the birth of the first man. Words of the humanist scholar Leon Battista Alberti always encourage me to greater artistic expression: "The movement of the soul is expressed through the movement of the body." This piece won Honorable Mention at the 2014 Art Renewal Center Salon. Patinated Plaster, 24" high. Please contact me for inquiries.
