St. Teresa

Cast drawing of Ecstasy of St. Teresa. The original sculpture group along with it's architectural frame and painting by the great artist Gian Lorenzo Bernini is located in Santa Maria della Vittoria in Rome. A prime example of Un Bel Composto, or synthesis of painting, sculpture and architecture, the orchestration is breath-taking especially when one realizes Bernini's genius in theatrical presentation as well as his allegorical use of spiritual ecstasy using figurative means.
